Lauren Pomara and Darius Shekari of New York City were married June 20 in the Sons of Herman Hall in downtown Dallas.

The bride is a daughter of John and Kathy Pomara of Dallas. The bridegroom is a son of Akbar and Sheila Shekari, also of Dallas; Sheila Crank Shekari is a former Mount Sterling resident.

Emily Einshon conducted the evening ceremony.

Attendants included Donya Shekari of Dallas, sister of the bridegroom, and Rose Worrell of London, cousin of the bridegroom.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 19 in Giovanis restaurant in North Dallas, followed by an ancient Persian wedding ceremony. A dinner-dance reception followed the ceremony in the Sons of Herman Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Hunter College in New York, and is a contracts and subsidiary rights manager at Bloomsbury-Walker and Co.

The bridegroom is an engineering student at New York City University.
