The parents of Lindy Marie Wimmer and Russell Den Pearson, both of Denver, Colo., have announced the couple's engagement. An Oct. 9 wedding is planned in Salem, Ore.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kent and Sue Wimmer of Salem, Ore. She is a student at Colorado Christian University and employed by Dick's Sporting Goods Park, the Colorado Rapids major league soccer team.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of Rusty and Linda Pearson of Perry, Ill. He is a student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and also employed at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
