The parents of Joanne Elizabeth Weise and Andrew Jason Arbogast have announced the couple's engagement. An Oct. 16 wedding is planned.

The bride-elect, of Decatur, is a daughter of James and Karen Weise of 2402 S. Eighth. She is a 2002 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and a 2006 graduate of Millikin University, where she was a member of Sigma Tau Delta English honors fraternity. Miss Weise is an office manager at HomeSight Inc.

The prospective bridegroom, also of Decatur, is a son of Betty Arbogast and Stan and Debbie Arbogast, all of Decatur. He is a trainer at Star Tek.
