Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church was the setting for the New Year's Eve 2007 wedding of Miss Jill Lynn Dingerson and Christopher "Chris" Eugene Reffett, both of 805 S. 12th.

The bride is a daughter of Raymond and Karel Dingerson of 562 E. 1325th St., Payson. The bridegroom is a son of Lee and Linda Reffett of Mount Sterling.

The bride was given in marriage by her father during the 5 p.m. ceremony conducted by the bridegroom's father. Music was provided by Esther Moore, soloist; Kristen Sprenger, sign language interpreter; and Carrie Schmidt, trumpet soloist. Also participating in the ceremony were Maureen Burkemper of Liberty, reading of hands of the bridal couple, and Jenny Welty of Mount Sterling, sister of the bridegroom, reader. The bride's mother was escorted down the aisle by her grandson-in-law, Robbie Lowrance of Cactus Flatts, S.D.

Matron of honor was Celeste Dupont Walker of O'Fallon, Mo., sorority sister of the bride. Also attending the bride were Kristina Bayes of Belvidere, her niece; Jeannette Laciak Huber of Alsip, Mary Maxwell Arnold of Battlefield, Mo., Valerie Norman Huhn of Jefferson City, Mo., and Patty Kristufek of Indianapolis, sorority sisters; Rachel Bayes Lowrance of Cactus Flatts, her niece; and Lisa and Lorenzo "Loren" Poncia of Novato, Calif.

Best men were Ed Moorman of Mount Zion and Carey Teaney of Quincy. Also attending the bridegroom were Jeremy McClelland, Paula Garthaus and Nashlynn Gowdy, his niece, all of Mount Sterling, and Janice Holmes of Clayton.

Ushers were Mike Bayes of Belvidere and Joe Quinn of Payson, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Keith Gowdy of Edinburg and Todd Welty of Mount Sterling, brothers-in-law of the bridegroom.

Flower girls were Alex Quinn, niece of the bride, and Joycelynn Welty, niece of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Andrew Welty, nephew of the bridegroom.

A rehearsal dinner was held Dec. 30 in the Washington Perk, hosted by the bridegroom's parents. A dinner and New Year's party and reception immediately followed the ceremony in the Oakley-Lindsay Center.

The newlyweds are at home at 805 S. 12th and plan a wedding trip to Victoria Island, British Columbia, this summer.

The bride earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication from Culver-Stockton College and a master of arts degree in corporate communication and crisis management from Western Kentucky University. She earned an executive MBA from Boston University and is associate director of development at Culver-Stockton College. Her memberships include Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Public Relations Society of America, National Communication Association, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The bridegroom earned a bachelor of arts degree in sound recording technology from DePaul University, a master of science degree in education from Quincy University and a master's degree in education administration from William Woods University. Mr. Reffett is an eighth-grade literature teacher at Central Junior High School, and coaches high school cross country, junior high wrestling and junior high track.

Mr. and Mrs. Reffett are members of Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church and Young Professionals of Quincy, and they are youth leaders at Mount Sterling United Methodist Church.
