The Tuscany Restaurant in Wheeling was the setting for the Feb. 23 wedding of Miss Tammi Elaine Gengenbacher and Richard Thomas Burke Jr., both of Vernon Hills.

The bride is a daughter of Gerald and Evelyn Gengenbacher of 1400 Jefferson. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Richard (Eugenia) Burke Sr. of Chicago and the late Richard Burke Sr.

The noon ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Marian Hale. Tracey Burke, sister of the bridegroom, read a special wedding prayer.

A luncheon reception immediately followed the ceremony in the restaurant.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Charleston, S.C., and are at home in Vernon Hills.

The bride is a 1981 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and a 1985 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She did graduate level study in the master of public administration program at the University of Illinois at Springfield and is a global marketing and brand manager at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. in Northbrook.

The bridegroom is a 1980 graduate of St. Patrick High School in Chicago and a 1985 graduate of DeVry University in Chicago, with a bachelor of science degree in electronics engineering technology. He is a senior systems software analyst at Underwriters Laboratories in Northbrook.
