ATLANTA, MO. -- A Newark driver was slightly injured in a one-car accident at 12:15 a.m. today on U.S. 63 near Atlanta in Macon County.

Matthew A. Chambers, 22, was taken by Macon County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Chambers drove the 2004 Chevrolet off the road and into the median. The car then crossed the median into the northbound lane, where it began to spin before coming to rest in the median. Chambers was wearing a seat belt.

A summons is pending.
Also assisting were the Macon County Sheriff's Department and Atlanta Fire and First Responders.
