A fire at a garage at 420 S. 10th injured the owner of an automotive shop at about 9:45 a.m. Thursday when a gasoline tank fell off a stand and caught fire.
Mike Strother sustained first-degree burns and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel from the Adams County Ambulance Service.
Strother was working on a Chevrolet pickup truck on a lift at Strother Automotive. He had removed the gasoline tank to work on the truck’s fuel pump, and the gasoline tank was set on a stand.
The tank fell and a spark ignited the spilled gasoline, fire officials said.
