The parents of Jessie Marie Canavan and Keith H.E. Brocksieck have announced the couple's engagement. She is a daughter of Kent and Janet Canavan of 1805 N. 24th. He is a son of Ruby Brocksieck of 619 Oak.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Quincy High School and a cum laude graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Lambda. Miss Canavan is a property accountant at the Quincy Mall.

The prospective bridegroom, of 1242 Kentucky, is a grinder at Quincy Metal Fabricators.

A Sept. 6 wedding is planned.
