John "J.T." and Cheri Dozier of Quincy have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Ruth Dozier, to Christian Richard Ritter. He is a son of Herr Dr. Werner and Frau Gabriella Ritter of Wettstetten, Germany.

Miss Dozier is a 2002 graduate of Quincy High School and a 2006 graduate of Murray State University, majoring in organizational communication. While at Murray State, she was a member of the MSU Equestrian Team. Miss Dozier is a student at Tandem Zentrum School of Language in Frankfurt, Germany.

Mr. Ritter is a 1999 graduate of Christoph-Scheiner-Gymnasium in Ingolstadt, Germany. He received a master of business administration degree from Murray State University in 2005 and a study of commercial information technology degree in 2006 from the University of Regensburg, Germany, where he is a doctoral student. Mr. Ritter is a water polo referee in the Bavarian Water Polo League and a member of the SC Dolphin Ingolstadt water polo team.

The couple will be married Aug. 8 in Ingolstadt and will repeat their vows during summer 2009 in Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church in Quincy.
