Steve and Sue Reis of 1617 S. 28th will be honored for their 40th wedding anniversary with a private family backyard barbecue on July 4, hosted by family members.

Mr. Reis and the former Carol Sue Spilker were married July 4, 1968.

Mrs. Reis is a daughter of the late James and Alberta Spilker. Mr. Reis is a son of Mary Reis Schmidt of Quincy and the late Wilbert Reis.

They are the parents of Michelle Zanger and her husband, Lloyd, of Quincy and Jeff Reis and his wife, Laura, of Barry. They have seven grandchildren.

Mr. Reis has been a City of Quincy transit bus driver for 10 years. He enjoys yard work and working on projects in his garage.

Mrs. Reis has operated Sue's Day Care for 35 years. She enjoys children, day care and angels.

They are members of St. Peter Catholic Church and they both enjoy anything that has to do with their grandchildren's sports events.
