Dakota L. Downing was taken by Knox County EMS to the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville for treatment. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the 2001 Toyota Camry was eastbound then it struck the cow about five-tenths of a mile west of Route J. Police did not reveal the name of the animal's owner.
