Quincy Herald Whig http://qui.live.mediaspanonlinen.com/rss/ Quincy Herald Whig en-us Park Band's free concert to feature a variety of musical selections The Quincy Park Band conducted by Pam Potter will perform at 6:30 p.m. today and Wednesday in Madison Park. The public is invited to these free concerts and those who attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The Park Band welcomes a new co-sponsor on July 6. Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge-Shottenkirk will co-sponsor Sunday's concert, which will feature a wide variety of enjoyable music. Edwin Franko Goldman's march "The Chimes Of Liberty" will open the program followed by the "Finale from the New World Symphony" of Dvorak. The concert will also include a medley of songs of the 1920s such as "I Want To Be Happy," "I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clove," "Carolina In The Morning," "Charleston," and more. The band will also play a novelty piece called "Humorescapade," Leroy Anderson's "Blue Tango," a big band medley called "Big Bands In Concert," and selections from Gershwin's musical masterpiece "Porgy And Bess."
