Cleaves - Liesen

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jay Cleaves are at home in Quincy after honeymooning in Townsend, Tenn.

Mr. Cleaves and the former Jane Marie Liesen exchanged wedding vows Dec. 8 in St. Anthony Catholic Church.

The bride is a daughter of James and Rose Ann Liesen of 4828 Sunview Drive. The bridegroom is a son of John and Sharon Cleaves of Quincy.

Mr. Liesen gave his daughter in marriage during the noon ceremony conducted by the Rev. Tom Hagstrom. Music was provided by Connie Vermeire, Renae Jansen and Janelle Vermeire. Also participating in the ceremony were Mary Misiora and Rebekah McCombs, cousin of the bride, readers; JoAnne Scarbrough and Judy Walker, aunts of the bride, gift bearers; and Karen McCombs, aunt of the bride, and Jeff Liesen, uncle of the bride, Eucharistic ministers.

Matron of honor was Anne Gibleon, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Tina Liesen, sister-in-law of the bride, and Kristin Liesen, Janell Vermeire and Brittany Vermeire, cousins of the bride.

Best man was Arthur Rardon Jr., brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Darrell Liesen, brother of the bride; Andrew Flesner; Ben Failor; and Clint Gibleon, brother-in-law of the bride.

Ushers were Darrell Liesen and Clint Gibleon.

Flower girl was Jordyn Liesen, niece of the bride. Ring bearers were Brock Gibleon, Chase Gibleon, Brenten Gibleon and Hunter Gibleon, nephews of the bride.

The bridegroom's parents and family hosted a rehearsal dinner Dec. 7 in the Fairfield Inn. A reception was held from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Quincy University, where she is employed as a transfer coordinator.

The bridegroom is employed by Hy-Vee on Broadway.

The bridal couple were honored with a bridal shower in October at Chaddock, hosted by Anne Gibleon, Rose Ann Liesen, Tina Liesen, Jordyn Liesen, Kristin Liesen, Janelle Vermeire and Brittany Vermeire.
