Powell - Cashman

Miss Katherine Anne Cashman and Cory Martin Powell were united in marriage June 21 in the chapel of First Union Congregational Church in Quincy.

The bride, of St. Louis, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Devin Cashman of 107 Emery Drive. The bridegroom, of 806 Jackson, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Powell of 3714 Stonegate.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents during the 5 p.m. ceremony conducted by the bride's uncle, Judge Dennis K. Cashman.

The marriage was witnessed by the bridegroom's brother, Christopher Michael Powell, and the bride's brother, John Devin Cashman II.

The bride's parents hosted a wedding dinner following the ceremony at the Quincy Country Club.

After honeymooning in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the newlyweds are at home in St. Louis.

The bride graduated from Quincy High School in 2003 and graduated cum laude with college honors in 2007 from the University of Illinois with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is a nurse at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in the surgical, burn, trauma intensive care unit.

The bridegroom graduated from Quincy High School in 2001 and from the University of Illinois in 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He received a master's degree in special education from Quincy University in 2007 and has accepted a position at Wohlwend Elementary School in St. Louis teaching students with autism.
