LORAINE, Ill. — A 39-year-old Loraine man is lodged in the Adams County jail after a Thursday drug-related arrest.

Charles E. Jenkins, 717 W. Whitt, is charged with attempted possession of anhydrous ammonia, unlawful possession, delivery, and manufacture of methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Adams County Sheriff's deputies had conducted a drug investigation involving the attempted purchase of anhydrous ammonia involving Jenkins.

At Jenkins' residence, deputies later found several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Also seized were methamphetamine, cannabis and numerous firearms.
