Annette M. Ryan and James A. Briseno have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Marcia Davis of Lisle and Mike and Lisa Ryan of Hannibal, Mo. She graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in fitness and nutrition in 1999 and a master's degree in exercise physiology/kinesiology in 2001. Miss Ryan is the national director of education and operations for the National Personal Training Institute in Chicago.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of Alicia Briseno of Lawrence, Kan. He is a 1996 graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a 1999 graduate of Stanford University with a juris doctor of laws degree. Mr. Briseno is a senior attorney for IPSCO in Lisle.

The couple will be married at 2 p.m. July 26 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Quincy.
