The parents of Jeanna Beth Lord and Brennan Lee Parkhill, both of 295 E. 2400th St., Barry, have announced the couple's engagement. She is a daughter of Joseph and Pamela Lord of Plainville. He is a son of Wes and Barb Parkhill of Barry.

The bride-elect attended Seymour High School in Payson, earned an associate of applied science degree in addictions counseling from the College of Dupage and a bachelor of arts degree in human services from National Louis University. Miss Lord is an AmeriCorps member at the Adams County Health Department.

The prospective bridegroom attended Liberty High School and John Wood Community College. He is employed by D and L Excavating.

An Aug. 9 wedding is planned in Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church.
