The engagement of Erica Lynne Blackwell and Scott Michael Ireland, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been announced by his parents, Michael and Donna Ireland of 2630 Rogers Court. Miss Blackwell is a daughter of Rick and Michael Blackwell of Cedar Rapids.

The bride-elect graduated in 1999 from Kennedy High School and in 2004 from the University of Iowa. She is a teacher at Regis Middle School and at Studio Dance and is Iowa Dance Team coach.

The prospective bridegroom graduated in 1999 from Quincy Notre Dame High School and in 2003 from Mount Mercy College. He is director of sales at KM Communications.

A July 12 wedding is planned in Cedar Rapids.
