John and Wilma Sprick

John and Wilma Sprick of 2915 S. Eighth were honored for their 75th wedding anniversary with a family picnic June 15 at their home. The event was hosted by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sprick and the former Wilma Steffen were married June 10, 1933, in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Mrs. Sprick is a daughter of the late Anna Lee Jarrett and Cecil Steffen. Mr. Sprick is a son of the late John and Sadie Sprick.

They are the parents of Ron Sprick and his wife, Lynn, and Judy Sprick Daniels and her husband, Russ, all of Quincy. They have three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sprick was quarry superintendent at Black White Limestone Co. and Calcium Carbonate for 46 years before retiring in 1978. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and bowling.

Mrs. Sprick was employed by Wink's Market and Niemann's Grocery in the deli department before her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed keeping her family and friends supplied with homemade cookies.

They are members of LaBelle Christian Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Sprick met at a square dance.
