Ron and Linda Hinkamper
Ron and Linda Hinkamper of 2625 Woodale Court are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary with a family dinner today in Sprout's Inn, hosted by their children. They will also celebrate with a trip to Branson, Mo.
Mr. and Mrs. Hinkamper were married June 29, 1963, in St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hinkamper is a daughter of Eugene and Rose "Darlene" Beckman of Coralville, Iowa. Mr. Hinkamper is a son of the late Russell and Desty Hinkamper.
They are the parents of Russell Hinkamper and his wife, Anna, of Quincy, Robin Cimera and her husband, Gary, of Centralia, Renea Henning and her husband, Joe, and Ryan Hinkamper and his wife, Sarah, all of Quincy. They have 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Hinkamper retired from the Quincy Fire Department after 22 1/2 years of service as a lieutenant. He was an arson investigator, advisor for Explorer Post 104 and a counselor for juveniles. He is known for his skillful carpentry work as a journeyman cabinet maker. Mr. Hinkamper volunteers with Boy Scouts of America, coaches the Redskins in YMCA tackle football and is a member of the Quincy Retired Firefighters.
Mrs. Hinkamper was employed by St. John Catholic School for 10 years and now works for the Quincy Public Schools at the Early Childhood Center. She is known for her love of many children, ministry and volunteer work. She ministers for Prison Fellowship, TEC and REC programs, and was instrumental in starting Circle of Caring in her church, as well as Marcia's Mission. Mrs. Hinkamper has traveled to Haiti to work with the Franciscan Hospital Sisters.
They are members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she serves as a Eucharistic minister. They both have delivered many meals together for Meals on Wheels and have been foster parents for Catholic Charities for 30 years, giving their love to many children.
