Registration forms available for student summer theater classes
Quincy Community Theatre is offering three student summer theater classes beginning next week. Registration forms are available from the QCT office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Civic Center. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
"A Star is Born" is for students who will be entering kindergarten and first grade. At a young age, students are given a chance to start developing theater skills. This class meets July 7-23 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students may be registered for one of two sessions. Session one meets 9-10 a.m. and session two meets 4-5 p.m. Tuition is $50.
Students entering fourth through seventh grades may enroll for "Acting the Part." This class will provide students with techniques to become stronger and more honest actors, with an emphasis on creating realistic characters. Students will take part in theater exercises, improv and scene work. "Acting the Part" will meet July 7-23 on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuition is $50.
"Acting ABC's" is for those going into second or third grades. The young actors will develop their basic acting skills by using their own imaginations to create stories and characters that they will bring to life. This class will meet July 8-24, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Parents have the option of enrolling their child in either session one, which meets 9-10 a.m., or session two, which meets 4-5 p.m. Tuition is $50.
